Natural Dental Care with Himalaya Botanique

Disclosure: I received this product for free from Moms Meet, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. The opinions posted are my own.

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in running a zero-waste household has been to find natural products for my home that are both natural in makeup and eco-friendly in packaging. Especially when it comes to finding natural dental care products. From wasteful plastic toothbrushes to toothpaste with questionable ingredients, it’s hard to sort through it all and find the ideal products! That is why I was excited to try the natural dental products by Himalaya Herbal Healthcare.

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare

For my review, I received a variety of products from Himalaya Herbal Healthcare – namely their entire line of Himalaya Botanique toothpaste as well as a bamboo toothbrush, a sari bag, and personal care bag.

What I liked about Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste Line:

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare

For the past few weeks, my family has been testing out the various types of Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste. While it’s no secret that I’m on a continual hunt for good oral care products at home. But then again who isn’t? Dental bills can be expensive and it’s in my current season of life that I can appreciate all the cost my grandmother put into considering my oral health, and it’s this same consideration that I give my husband and my little one as well!

There’s also the issue of my own teeth and gum health, which as we know, can become more and more an issue as we age. So the natural route for oral care products is the only way to go for me.

In terms of the Himalaya Botanique toothpaste, I was impressed that they offer so many varieties of their Himalaya Botanique toothpaste. As per my own past experience, when I have found natural oral care product lines that I like they tend to only come in only one or two natural toothpaste varieties. The varieties I received from Himalaya Botaniqueto review include the Complete Care toothpaste in Simply Spearmint, Simply Peppermint, Simply Cinnamon, and Simply Mint as well as the Whitening Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Mint and Simply Peppermint.

Another bonus for me? The Himalaya Botanique whitening toothpaste whitens your teeth naturally with pineapple and papaya enzymes!

In terms of cleaning power, this line also features pomegranate extract to really deep-clean teeth. Each time I’ve used this line, particularly the whitening variety, my mouth feels so refreshed afterward! I also haven’t suffered from any noticeable gum irritation, my breath feels fresher, and I’ve enjoyed using these products greatly! Even my child, who generally shies away from what she calls spicy toothpaste seemed to enjoy this line as well. Due in part to each product including Xylitol, a natural sweetener that also helps build tooth enamel. Like my little one, I enjoyed the taste of the toothpastes and found each paste to taste like mild, natural versions of their namesakes. Each without heavy, overwhelming tastes or chemically-laden or and heavy alcohol after tastes.

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare

A few other points worth mentioning with this line is that they are:

  • Help promote healthy gums
  • 100% Vegetarian
  • Free from Parabens
  • Helps to Removes Plaque
  • Helps prevent tooth decay
  • Helps to naturally reduce gum bleeding and inflammation
  • Refreshing taste
  • Long lasting fresh breath

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare also put a lot of thought into their packaging. The toothpaste packaging is made with 100% recycled material, is printed with soy-based inks, and their toothpaste cartons can be composted. Which as we live in a zero-waste household, all of these points are a huge bonus for us!

Overall, I love what Himalaya Herbal Healthcare offers. I love that they offer such a great variety of effective and affordable natural dental products. Perfect for every household and budget, with products priced affordably at only $5.99! So, friends, I encourage you to check out this awesome natural line and to connect with Himalaya Herbal Healthcare below. And if you currently use a natural toothpaste product, I’d love to hear about that as well below!

This week’s menu will again reflect a little bit of a change. For the past six months, we have made a point of eating our freezers down to zero. Now we will be switching gears and making a priority out of eating down our home pantry stockpile. Arctic Zero Fit Frozen Desserts Review

If you’re anything like me, it’s not truly summer until you have a stockpile of creamy, dreamy ice cream pints in your home freezer! Two weeks ago, my friends at Arctic Zero sent our family a case of their delicious Fit Frozen Desserts just in time for summer. We celebrated the longest day of the year with an ice cream party and movie night at home. We had so much fun! The ice cream was a delicious treat on that hot day and sitting on my patio watching my family play brought back such fun memories from the summers of my youth!

Arctic Zero Fit Frozen Desserts Review

Something that initially peaked my interest in the company is that as a child, ARCTIC ZERO founder, Greg Holtman, vividly remembers caring for his mother–a type-1 diabetic. While Greg and his family loved sweets, especially ice cream, most desserts at the time contained artificial sweeteners and ingredients. Unwilling to compromise between indulging his sweet tooth and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Greg set out to craft a functional, yet indulgent, dessert with premium ingredients.

After years of recipe tinkering using ingredients you can understand, ARCTIC ZERO was born – a line of Fit Frozen Desserts with zero compromises. As someone with insulin-resistant PCOS, I was delighted to see how those who live with glucose sensitivities like myself, were taken into consideration with the creation and formulation of this product line!

With some sweet desserts like cake, pie, and ice cream spike my own blood glucose levels, but with Fit Frozen Desserts I can enjoy guilt-free when I crave something sweet during the summer!

I love that ARCTIC ZERO Fit Frozen Desserts Pints are the perfect zero-guilt sweet treats for moms who care about clean, healthy ingredients. Each crave-worthy, low-calorie, lactose-free pint is made with hormone-free whey protein and sweetened naturally with monk fruit, making it low in sugar but high on taste. We had the opportunity to sample their Cookie Shake, Cherry Chocolate Chip, Cake Batter, Salted Caramel, Rocky Road Trip, and Peanut Butter Swirl varieties.

Arctic Zero Fit Frozen Desserts Review

Overall, I liked each flavor. I have since purchased all the Arctic Zero flavors, as my family liked them so much, with the Cherry Chocolate Chunk, Vanilla Maple, and Toasted Coconut varieties being my favorites. On a hot summer day treat, they are so yummy.

For serving frozen desserts with the perfect creamy texture, we let them thaw out for 15 minutes before digging into each dessert, and as you might have guessed, everyone in our family came back for seconds.

Keep in mind, Arctic Zero is a frozen dessert similar to ice cream but doesn’t have the same thickness or texture. If you’ve ever tried sherbet or lactose-free ice cream made from soy milk then you’ll be aware of the texture Arctic Zero brings to the table. The product is like enjoying a frozen smoothie pint. Still cold, sweet, and tasty, but less creamy than traditional dairy products. And as someone with gluten and glucose intolerances, this is a product I look forward to eating, feel confdent feeding my family, and would gladly serve company as well!

Arctic Zero Fit Frozen Desserts Review

Other reasons I like the Arctic Zero Frozen Dessert Pints are:

  • A low-glycemic treat for diabetics since it’s sweetened naturally with monk fruit.
  • Contain no sugar alcohols.
  • Is lactose-free and perfect for those who are lactose intolerant.
  • Uses only rBST-free whey proteins.
  • Are fat-free and contain only 35 calories per half-cup serving and 150 calories for the entire pint, making it a zero-guilt dessert.
  • Each Chunky dessert pint is low in fat with only 1-2.5 grams for the entire pint.
  • Each Pint contains an impressive 3-4 gram of protein per serving.
  • All pints contain 2-3 grams of fiber per serving.
  • ARCTIC ZERO is certified kosher, GMO-free, and contains no artificial ingredients.
  • Priced affordably at $4.49-$4.99 per pint.

You can find ARTIC Zero at select Target® stores, Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Sprouts Farmers Market, Safeway, Walmart, Winn-Dixie, and Whole Foods Market as well as online at amazon.com and arcticzero.com. To find a store near you, visit the Art Zero website.

You can also learn more about Arctic Zero online on their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts as well!

Friends, I have been more than impressed by the ARCTIC ZERO Fit Frozen Desserts Pints and encourage you all to try them for yourself this summer! So now I have to ask, what’s your favorite warm-weather treat? I’d love to hear about them below!

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

This post is sponsored by BODYARMOR. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

Even though school is out for the summer, our schedule is still jam-packed with various sporting events. This is especially true for our family as my husband teaches and coaches our public school district’s only Robotics course and competitive team. From assembling robotics to day-long practice drills, our family invests a lot of time cheering on our robotics team as we take the journey of exploration, from conceptualizing our team’s robot all the way through 10-hour competition day events.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

When you think of competitive events for children, a robotics team may not be the first thing that comes to mind. While organized sports, such as football, basketball, and track are excellent ways to instill team building practices in youth, robotics teams and competitions can even better at preparing children for the future, especially for young women.

According to the National Education Association, young women who participate in Robotics teams average up to thirty percent higher on standardized test scores, are twenty percent less likely to drop out of school, and have fewer instances of low self-esteem. Making Robotics competitions not only competitive but character building.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

Robotics teams encourage student participation at almost every age group, starting with kindergarten and going all the way to college and post-grad programs. Of course, the structure and objectives of these competitions vary greatly depending on the age of the student. Early education robotics programs introduce kids to robotics and programming concepts, challenging them to start thinking like a robotics engineer by encouraging them to create solutions to fun, kid-friendly problems.

There are also highly competitive tween, teen, and college-age year-round robotics programs that train students to prepare for not only tournaments but possible careers in the medical, engineering, physics, construction, architecture, and space exploration fields, often including scholarship opportunities for students of all education styles. Our team is comprised of tween and teen 6,7, 8th 8th-grade competitive athletes, we like to call robothletes.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

As a Robothletes team mom, I want to make sure our children have everything that they need to stay well-equipped, hydrated, and healthy while in the competition. Since I was also into all sorts of sports as a kid myself, including competitive robotics, I know how important having the right gear on hand can be competition day, including snacks and drinks. Which is why I love being able to keep our team well-stocked with my favorite grab-and-go summer snacks and drinks from Sam’s Club. Products that keep our young robothletes hydrated and healthy on and off the competition floor. With this in mind, here are 7 essentials students need at each robotics events.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

1. Fresh Fruit: If you were to bump into me at Sam’s Club, it’s a guarantee that you’ll see stacks of fruit in my cart. While I love keeping fresh fruit on hand at home and for our robothletes, my biggest reason for making fresh fruit a grab-and-go snack? It’s completely zero-waste! All you need to do is fill a reusable container with whole or sliced fruit and head out the door. Any leftover fruit scraps can be brought home to compost. Package-free snacking at its best!

2. Granola Bars: Granola bars are the ubiquitous snack option. Options include low or no sugar options as well as bars that are high in protein too. Granola bars are easy to toss into a bag, are full of flavor, and are a great way to increase nutrient intake while keeping your child full when on-the-go. I like to pick up tubs of bars so that wrappers can be stored in tubs until we come home!

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

3. Smoothies: I love taking smoothies to robotics competitions! From squeezable smoothie options to pre-made freezable mason jar options, smoothies are simple to pack in bags, purses, and even coolers too! Consider purchasing smoothie packs that sneak in extra servings of veggies along with fruit, for mid-afternoon pick-me-up snacks!

The Nature MadeⓇ Daily Diabetes Health Pack

4. Nutrient-Packed Snacks: I love to pack snack packs for the kids that include everything from whole grain cereal and crackers to dehydrated fruit chips and raisins, to low-fat string cheese. I make sure I have a bag full of nutrient-packed snacks so that the robotheletes have a power-packed snack to keep their energy level strong throughout the day.

5. Coolers and Coller Bags: I always make sure to keep a cooler full of ice for drinks and freezer bags that contain freezer packs to keep smoothie packs and jars, snacks, and fruit chilled throughout competitions days.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

6. Noise Makers: When it comes to cheering on fellow teammates during robotics competitions, the more noise you can make the better! Robotheletes are encouraged to bring noisemakers along with them so I always make sure to pack team-colored pom-poms, hand clappers, and air horns to each competition. These inexpensive fun-makers pack a punch in the cheer-making arena!

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

7. Beverages: Our robotheletes are always thirsty. Especially as they come off of the competition floor. So adding high-quality sports drinks into the mix gives kids a simple way to stay hydrated on and off the field. I recently came across BODYARMOR Sports drinks at my local Sam’s Club, which is premium sports drink that provides superior hydration. It is packed with electrolytes, coconut water, and vitamins and is low in sodium and high in potassium.

7 Robotics Event Essentials For Students

BODYARMOR Sports drinks contain natural flavors and sweeteners and no colors from artificial sources. BODYARMOR water is a premium sports water designed by athletes, for athletes. I love that it’s a healthier alternative to traditional sports drinks on the market.

Before I head out the door, I make sure to grab a cooler, fill it with BODYARMOR, and keep the drink on me throughout the day for the times when our robotheletes need to replenish their bodies as they enter and exit competition sessions. BODYARMOR provides their body with superior hydration and comes in 9-great tasting flavors: fruit punch, orange mango, strawberry banana, tropical punch, blackout berry, mixed berry, grape, watermelon strawberry, and lemonade

While my husband and I are on the move from one arena to the next all summer long with our kids playing on so many floors – BODYARMOR and high-quality snacks keep our robotheletes ready for each and every round! I also love that BODYARMOR is now available in a 15-pack at Sam’s Club so I’m never running out of drinks for competition day!

Moms are your young athletes, and robothelets, working to be their personal best? I know ours are! As I’m sure your are as well, be sure to check out how your robotheletes at home can become the next BODYARMOR athlete: https://goo.gl/hRK7tC.

Monday Meal Plan (7/3-7/9/17)

Happy Monday, everyone! This week is starting off to a sunny, humid, and unseasonably warm start here in Dixie and as there’s no better way to start a week off then a well-thought out meal plan I can’t wait to share with you all what we will be having this week!

This week’s menu will again reflect a little bit of a change. For the past six months, we have made a point of eating our freezers down to zero. Now we will be switching gears and making a priority out of eating down our home pantry stockpile. Now for a small surprise! For the next few weeks, I will be experimenting with themed menus for the last ten weeks of Summer. This week’s theme: Layered quart jar salads for dinner.

Here’s how I make them:

Layer 4: Add 1/8 cup boiled eggs, cheese, or nuts and tofu.
Layer 5: Add 1/8 cup rice, pasta, quinoa, or couscous.
Layer 6: Add 1/2 cup greens; cabbage, lettuce, spinach, kale, or arugula.
