Hello again, savvy savers! Today finds us with our second book reivew of the day, and this time its the novella, Postcards From the Hedge: Seasons in a Suburban Garden, by Jill Appenzeller.
When I received Postcards From the Hedge: Seasons in a Suburban Garden in the mail, I was able to finish this novella in just a few days. The book is a hardcover edition, and Jill Appenzeller has a way to make you as the reader feel as if you live not in your own homes, but in her novella. This is a “collection of vignettes that span all four seasons, decades, and memories of a garden.” The stories show the parallels between the work that is needed each season to transform a garden, which seems to mirror the work that is needed in each and every one of our own families, relationships, and bonds.
This book is an awesome summer read.
