Hello again, savvy savers! Today finds us with yet another great book review, and this time I had the pleasure of reading, Percolate: Let Your Best Self Filter Through, by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino; this book also which includes “Coffee Breaks” with Dr. Katie Eastman.
For those who may not know this author, Hamilton-Guarino is an author and Best Ever You Network CEO, who specializes in allergy-conscious product lines. In 2008, Hamilton-Guarino left a 17 year career in the financial services industry, to start The Best Ever You Network, which is now a leading multimedia provider of lifestyle and self-help content. Hamilton-Guarino also hosts “The Best Ever You Show” on BlogTalkRadio, which has over one million global listeners.
In terms of this work, the only words best fitting to describe this book, is fun; not the fun you would have shopping or dining, or even with your family, the kind of fun you have after spontaneously laughing for several minutes, that short span of time between joy, bliss, and internal euphoria, that only you are aware of. This book, though clearly a self-help book, seeks to have the reader develop their own sense of betterment with the provided analysis of nine guided steps to help us become our best self. The nine points have names such as, “Create Your Own Best Blend” and “Percolate Peace”. One of my favorite chapters is entitled, “What Would Betty White Do?”. With sections detailing ways to live better and longer, the author illustrates points, including ways to find personal heroes, Betty White, for whom both the reader and author can enjoy the ideas of not taking yourself so seriously, as to stop and enjoy not just a new moments, but a lifetime of laughter!
I also enjoyed the part entitled, “Percolate Peace” to help us find inner peace; this section was neither religious-based nor world-driven, but merely a moment when two “friend,” could enjoy the peace and solitude that only our best, deepest thoughts can bring forth. This book will inspire you, provoke laughter, and most important show you how to let your light shine through.
This book is like jazz hands for your heart!
