Hello again, savvy savers! Today finds us with another great book to review, and this time its Forever Amish, by Kate Lloyd.
To begin, I’d like to say that though I have read many books in the Amish-genre, this book seemed a bit like a fish out of water. The characters in this book seemed very out of step sequentially, as the main protagonist Lizzie, seemed to one minute fear her Bishop, and the next she was dismissive towards his every move. As well, the Bishop, a stern but lovable character, seems to be written in a way that minimizes what could have otherwise been a very complex, nurturing characterization. As this is the final book, Forever Amish, in Kate Lloyd’s Legacy of Lancaster trilogy introduces us to a young woman who is questioning her future as she uncovers a shocking secret about her past, I expected the book to be more revealing, interpersonal, and put-together. As a general read it is quick and light, and for those looking for a simple read, this will fill the bill.
